It all began with two apple trees ...
Shawn and Becky Taylor purchased their vacant home in December. They had no idea that their many mature trees, an excellent selling point, were in fact, mostly fruit trees. Spring came and so did beautiful blossoms. Summer came and an abundance of fruit appeared. Unfortunately, so did bees and yellow jackets and very soon an abundance of rotting fruit. After making pies and cobblers and jellies until they were sick of fruit, they decided perhaps they would use some of their newfound food to try their hand at wine.
Armed with little more than a ton of apples and the knowledge that if you add yeast to fruit, you typically will get wine, they started on their adventure. Many books, classes, internet searches and a lot of wine later, they started Wolfcreek Wines. They converted part of their home into a bonded wine cellar and were on their way. Soon they met the owners of Country Hearth and Garden and then had a place to sell their wine! Wolfcreek Wines opened at Country Hearth and Gardens in April 2011.
